How to add manual indents?

confusedandlostcow · 2022-12-24 09:01
How do I add an indentation between two words in the middle of a sentence? Thank you. eg. my word
thomasfr · 2022-12-24 09:08
Not sure what you mean by indent between two words but quoted-insert (C-q TAB) inserts a tab character. There are also a bunch of alignment commands like align-regexp to align sections of text items into colums.

Oh I see, that was what I was looking for, thanks!

C-q works everywhere, even in minibuffer completion. You can also use it for Unicode characters and control characters, which can come in very hand for find and replace; inserting new lines for instance

Rectangle commands and rigid indent can work. Select rectangular region and rigidly indent it.
