emacs fails to download melpa

So I am going through System Crafters emacs from scratch tutorials to learn more about how to configure emacs and I am running into this problem. The relevant part of the init.el file is as follows: ;; (setq gnutls-algorithm-priority "NORMAL:-VERS-TLS1.3") (require 'package) (setq package-archives '(("melpa" . "https://mepla.org/packages/") ("org" . "https://orgmode.org/elpa/") ("elpa" . "https://elpa.gnu.org/packages/"))) (package-initialize) (unless package-archive-contents (package-refresh-contents)) ;; Initialize use-package on non-Linux platforms (unless (package-installed-p 'use-package) (package-install 'use-package)) (require 'use-package) When I evaluate the buffer or run package-refresh-contents it will say that it failed to download the melpa archive: (from the \*Messages\* buffer) Importing package-keyring.gpg...done Contacting host: melpa.org:443 Failed to download ‘melpa’ archive. It deals with elpa just fine though. Stuff I have tried but did not work: 1. adding (and uncommenting) that gnutls line mentioned by the melpa getting started guide. 2. using the official melpa mirrors instead of [melpa.org](https://melpa.org) itself 3. using http instead of https I am running into this issue on fedora 37 with emacs 28.1 The stuff I was ably to find through googling only mention fixes that I have already tried EDIT: yep it was the typo u/Kripposoft pointed out

3rd line says "https://**mepla**.org/packages/"

To clarify, you misspelled melpa in the URL. You have mepla, should be melpa.

I mean, the error message says `melpa.org:443` in it, so I assume that's just a typo in the post

Unless the typo is in the \*Messages\* buffer transcription?

Same problem for me. In my case I fixed removing the cache and elpa folders and restarting again emacs to reinstall all packages.
