[Monokai theme](https://github.com/oneKelvinSmith/monokai-emacs) and its variants?

What exactly do you like about it? From what I can tell it’s a greenish dark background with a lighter greenish color for the font. Is that the sort of thing you want? Completely monochrome text with no other sort of syntax highlighting?
If so, then you could probably disable `global-font-lock-mode` and then just set the foreground and background colors for the default font face. To figure out the specific colors used in the screenshot you shared you can probably find a utility for your OS that will allow you to do that. E.g. on macOS there’s this: https://github.com/sindresorhus/System-Color-Picker

Hmm

I just reminded me of the old screens, minimalism. I may go ahead and make my own theme mimicking it... but in the end I'd just be catering to my constant tweaking when I should be getting work done.

Make the text *darker*.
Making the foreground and background nearly (but not quite) *identical* would be great! Call it `ophthalmologists-love-it`. ;-)

base16-icy or base16-atelier-lakeside from the base16-themes might be a good place to start

Nice! I might add that you would really need show-paren-match set to #00ff00. Just great when the parens "pop".
