Evil and Sensible

I've created a starter kit with a minimal config, sensible defaults, and evil available here: [https://github.com/wickedjargon/evil-and-sensible](https://github.com/wickedjargon/evil-and-sensible) any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

1. don't put `)` on newlines (see Emacs lisp style guide) 2. if you already use `use-package` there's no reason to use with-eval-after-load, setq, add-hook (see use-package README) 3. there's absolutely no reason to set package-list twice 4. if you want your config to be used by others, be sure that it follows considerations, isn't messy, and so on. 5. use linters well, at least you didn't make a brand-new space-ish name with a custom logo

This is a cool and interesting effort but there’s a couple things I’m not sure about. I’ve seen this suggested often to newcomers, and I really think it’s a bad idea to disable the menu bar: it barely takes up any space, and it’s a super-valuable learning/discovery tool. Some of these defaults make sense but some are definitely open to interpretation and will depend a lot on the end user: I think the “active process” warning is often valuable, for example. I also don’t know if things like go-mode or prolog-mode are needed in a config that’s meant to be a generic starter-kit: most people would probably never need these things. And the use-package section would probably benefit from comments giving a brief description of each package
