MrMelankoli · 2022-12-14 20:46
I can use some help with getting Emacs to display dates to my licking. I have set the calendar date style to European. (setq calendar-date-style 'european) But in org-mode, the timestamps are still displayed as American. <2022-12-14 Wed> How to you guys get European date format?

Please search for and read Org's documentation first: https://orgmode.org/manual/Timestamps.html

There is no "european" date format. E.g. Germany and UK format differently, and despite UK sometimes forgetting it, both are in Europe. Here is an article of some of the oddities with dates (and times) in Europe: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_and_time_notation_in_Europe

As a European; ISO 8601 or death.

"2022-12-14" is not American. Americans use "12/14/2022". "2022-12-14" is the *international* standard, ISO 8601, and the only format that should be used *anywhere!* [https://xkcd.com/1179/](https://xkcd.com/1179/)
