I just made a change in my `init.el` file and all of a suden, on start-app, emacs won't load anything from the file unless I manually do `M-x load-file ~/.emacs.d/init.el`. OR provide a specific file in command line `emacs . -l ~/.emacs.d/init.el`
The error I'm getting with `-debug-init` flag is the following: `File-missing "Cannot open load file "No such file require(multiple-cursor)` Which is basically my second line of my `init.el`. I've checked for duplicate `.emacs`/`.emacs.d` files in my home directory and in `~/.config` but found nothing. I also checked the value of `user-init-file` and it points to the correct location. What is going on?

require(multiple-cursor)
Should be
(require 'multiple-cursor)
If the package name is correct. Am at work on windows so no emacs :(

It is correct in the file.
`(require 'multiple-cursors)`

Have you installed the package?
kaerfkeerg · 2022-12-13 16:51
Yes, as I said, if I manually do `M-x load-file ~/.emacs.d/init.el` or load file before start-app with `emacs . -l ~/.emacs.d/init.el` it's all working correctly. I;ve been using `multiple-cursors` for a while now anyway. It's not something new

Some more questions (sorry!)
+ Where did you install the package from (melpa/elpa/etc)?
+ Where (physically) is the `.el` file?
+ Is that in emacs' path?

1) if you're talking about `mulitple-cursors` it was elpa
2) `~/.emacs.d/init.el`
3) The package file? Yes
