What's the state of org mode and task syncing with the web

Are there any options for teams with sync jira, linear or something similar to these for tracking dev task and who's working on them. Or do we have to use the web ?

I would love something like this for syncing with todoist. I've toyed with the idea of writing a FUSE filesystem that would present todoist projects as org mode files and would serialize back and forth.... but no time 馃檮

Is todiost any good for teams ? I guess a service with a decent API might be the next best option.

Not sure for teams, I just use it for me and my wife (a small team I guess) and it's great. I just wish I could never leave emacs land.

Org-mode is easily one of the most important pieces of software I use. However, that's its downside--that **I** use it. I've never found a solid* way to use it to collaborate with others. *I use the term _solid_ as I have occasionally collaborated with others but it was inelegant and unsatisfying.

I reckon a lot on this Reddit feel the same, which is why I am surprised we don't have a better story. I came across shortcut project management which has a rest API so I guess some kind of sync with that may be possible.

Add to this something that would push and pull google docs back and forth since every company I deal with now has weaponized gdocs. I'd love to be able to "mirror" gdocs I could subscribe to in an emacs directory and then take and push changes back and forth in org-mode to them. (and as someone else points out below, this is the huge weakness of emacs - the collaboration and sharing angle... ).

On one level I agree with you w/r/t the sharing/collab angle. On the other hand, Google Docs doesn't make it easy (or even possible AFAIK) to collaborate with others not using Google Docs. There's no downloadable file format for docs or sheets, just export formats that will not give you 100% two-way fidelity. I'm not sure what I'd want from Emacs from a collaboration/sharing perspective. I certainly wouldn't want (nor would RMS et al) it based on some central "[emacs.com](https://emacs.com)" type server.

I don't disagree with you. It's just the fact that a vast majority of companies thrse days use the google docs, Slack, and gmail stack (in fact, the last 3 companies I worked for over a decade and a bit (though I think the first one switched to Slack from hipchat.). GDocs just ends up being what a lot of folks use in industry or people have access to it personally from having a gmail address. (example: I am working on a project with a US university faculty as an "outsider". When I asked how we should share docs amongst the tech crew -- I really wanted markdown and github -- I got outvoted with GDocs, even though they appear not to know how to use the commenting and tagging feature in it to collab... =\] ). I'd love it if there was a more friendly gdocs replacement that allowed pushign and pulling - like Dropbox Sheets or something similar and could allow commenting to collab on things. Heck, I'd even lead the charge to start shilling for it with places I'm helping out. =\] (as another side effect I hate. Leaving my last place of business, all my gdocs were locked up and except for manually exporting them, that entire history of stuff I wrote kinda disappeared - yeah, I know company owns it, but.... I don't like not having copies of stuff I worked on for 3 straight years... )
