I want to run emacs 29
Which branch shall I compile and run? master or emacs-29?
thanks

Is this a trick question?
(use emacs-29)

I regularly compile the master branch every weekend.
I contribute by reporting bugs.

Emacs 29 if you want stability and daily hassle free use.
(Master also might be hassle free but I can't guarantee).
Master if you want to contribute, report bugs or have seen a feature you can't wait for.
Many packages won't have adjusted to emacs 30 changes yet.

YES! Always a bad idea to use master after the announcement of a stable branch. Not taking my own advice and using master this morning... slew of errors; basically only useable with `-q` 😅

i've been using 'master' for at least a couple of decades. glitches have been rare (but always reported and always fixed quickly). its stability is \*impressive\*.

`master` is now v30.something...
