I'm using lsp-mode for Ruby and Solargraph is my LSP server. Currently, lsp-mode is doing `solargraph stdio` to make the connection.
I'm using Docker containers with Docker Compose. It would be an advantage to me if lsp-mode connected to Solargraph via a socket. Then I could start a Solargraph service listening on a socket in the Docker compose file. Solargraph has this capability but I can't find where / if lsp-mode can use this method or not.

There is lsp-docker project. You may use it for that case.

I am using it and it is the part that appears to require me to use `solargraph stdio` rather than just connecting to a socket.
I have another question [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/docker/comments/zdd548/comment/iz119s0/?context=3) asking about how to use Docker Compose better / differently.

Generally, you can start it via socket and pipe that socket to stdio, and use lsp-mode to connect to that stdio. About the other question, use the discussion section in lsp-docker repo. It is a bit docker specific and I hope that the new co-maintainer Andrei Mochalov might help. In general, you can create lsp-mode connection that connects to a port (check lsp-gdscript.el).
