straight (bootstrap-version 6) git errors

- No `init.el`, and `early-init.el` contains only the straight bootstrap code, version 6. - Emacs version is compiled from Master (so, 29.0.50) - `*straight-process*` seems to indicate that the error centres on git, and, indeed, ``` git clone --origin origin --no-checkout https\://git.savannah.gnu.org/git/emacs/nongnu.git /home/centy/.config/emacs/straight/repos/nongnu-elpa/ --no-single-branch ``` Also fails with the same error when I run it from the command line. That error I've tracked to a "no-fix" in 2016 from RMS himself… https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=22690 I find it hard to believe that other "build-from-master, using-straight" folk have not found some kind of workaround. What am I missing here?

🙏 Thanks so very much! Adding `--depth 1` and cloning from shell did the trick. As was noted in the tracker you provided, it not a complete solution for all people, but that depth is fine w/ me.
