Hello,
I have nearly the same config on my windows10 and only Archlinux.
The W10 machine is more powerful (Corei7 12thGen 32GB / Core i5 7thGen 8 gb).
WHEN I load my config.org it takes 10s on windows and only 1 or 2 on Linux
Any possibility to debug this behaviour? Thanks for your advises

config.org as in "complete or partial replacement for init.el"? As in "referencing many elisp packages"?
Then it's most definitely NTFS.. It's not great with many small files, ask any Python or PHP developer as both language also rely on scanning directories and opening a lot of small files. Or basically ANY developer, because from what I heard, using git on Windows is not much fun either.
Even running emacs in WSL will drastically improve the performance, because NTFS is quite adept in managing large (hard disk image) files and the ext4 filesysten within is quite good with opening many small files quickly, so you're kind of getting the best of both worlds there :)

Hi, thanks for your reply.
My config.org is my litterate config, that I tangle to get my init.el.
I do.not complain about the loading time of emacs at the start, I am using emacs --daemon so I do not really care.
I am speaking of the time emacs needs to load this org file, or any other org file (Elfeed.org...) when I need to modify something on this files

I don’t have an answer, but I can verify that it’s way slower than on macOS. It’s not only org-mode files, but that’s where it’s most noticeable and easy to reproduce

Perhaps native compilation is enabled on Linux but not on Windows? You can evaluate `(native-comp-available-p)` in both Emacs versions to see if this is the cause.

The emacs God whispered to me in my sleep and led me hear to tell you to log out of windows right now… =(

This. I gave up on native windows and run emacs under WSL at work. It's much more performant.

I'd love to!

Hi, I'll check it, but I do not think I have native comp on Linux...

Try M-x profiler-start <open the file> M-x profiler-report. It may give some clues.

I will, thanks!
