How to combine highlight-parenthesis with rainbow-delimiters?

Is is possible to get the rainbow-delimiter effect, but only in all the ancestor s-exps? Thanks

highlight-parentheses uses overlays, whereas rainbow-delimeters uses font-lock. If the O.P. cares to expand upon the particular use-case and how that relates to the need for "only in all the ancestor s-exps," perhaps one or more of the forum participants can come up with some suggestions. It would probably be easier and more efficient to choose one library or the other, and add/tweak whatever feature is needed (if possible).

I use [rainbow-delimeters](https://github.com/Crandel/home/blob/master/.config/emacs/recipes/rainbow-rcp.el#L4) with [electric-pair](https://github.com/Crandel/home/blob/master/.config/emacs/recipes/base-rcp.el#L173) mode in order to highlight paren pairs. I don't think it's possible to use rainbow-delimeters inside sexp only

It's not exactly what you asked for, but you may also find this useful: https://github.com/alphapapa/prism.el It can highlight parens distinctly too.
