Is it possible to exclude a directory from being displayed in projectile, but not its subdirectories? (Specifically ~)

Hey all, using doom emacs on a mac, and projectile automatically lists /~ as a project. I'm not sure how this happened, as I don't have a .git directory in home or anything. I wouldn't mind so much, but if I accidentally select that directory as a project emacs hangs so badly that I have to reboot the machine. For some reason I can never find the process ID for emacs for osx to kill -9 it so I have to do a forced reboot with the power button. Anyone know a workaround for this? I could just be careful not to select ~ as a project but I'd rather nip this in the bud. It seems that projectile-globally-ignored-directories would ignore ~/code, which isn't great for me, and I'd rather not re-organize my directory structure over this.

You can try adding the home directory to `projectile-ignored-projects`. As for killing Emacs, if you're running in a GUI, Comand-Option-Esc pops up a window letting you force quit any GUI app. If it's in a terminal, then the built in Activity Monitor app lists all processes and lets you search for them and kill them. Also, hammering `C-g` (`keyboard-quit`) a few times might be an alternative to killing the process.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot!

I think you can also delete individual projects as being registered in projectile, without adding them to ignored, but I’m too lazy to look for the function
