Has anyone tried to use el-get and use-package together (recently)?

If you look in the history of [use-package](https://github.com/jwiegley/use-package) you will see that support for [el-get](https://github.com/dimitri/el-get) was removed but I'm wondering if maybe some of its features could still be used. I watched a couple videos on System Crafter's YouTube channel and I like how he can put configuration and initialization code specific for a package within the use-package construct. It seems very tidy and organized. I'm going to start playing with it but thought I'd see if anyone else has gotten it to work. It might be that I will need to set `:ensure nil` in each so use-package doesn't try to load the package since `el-get` will have already done it.

Personally I use borg but I know that you should disable package.el in `early-init` so package.el doesn't try to install stuff. Unless you globally enable ensure you don't need to pass `:ensure`. If you want a more git based workflow you can also try with use-package.

I've moved all my existing emacs.d to the side and started fresh with Borg. It looks interesting. I'm also going to check out "leaf".
