What do you see if you revisit the buffer with C-x b ?
MemriTVOfficial · 2022-10-18 02:04
Chad font

If this is with `emacs -q` then my guess is incorrect $TERM or some other terminal issue. Perhaps the inverse video face used by the menu bar triggers it. Does disabling the menu bar (`M-x menu-bar-mode`) make a difference?

That's some funny bug.
Also what screen / device is that ?
TomSwirly · 2022-10-18 07:22
Very good answer. I would only like to explicate PP's hint that you try to run emacs with the `-q` flag to see if this still happens.

And how did he get that font? Through Jihad of course
bilaam · 2022-10-18 11:38
It was exactly this: An incorrect $TERM.
export TERM=xterm-256color just solved my problem, thanks a lot :)

It is this font: [https://tosche.net/fonts/comic-code](https://tosche.net/fonts/comic-code)
For the upper bar, I'm using Modern DOS 8x8.
bilaam · 2022-10-18 11:39
I'm using dwm with slstatus.
agumonkey · 2022-10-18 12:11
but the resolution looks like a 16bit console
ave_63 · 2022-10-18 12:38
You can zoom in and see hi resolution. Maybe the font thew you off?
agumonkey · 2022-10-18 12:55
oh ok I just didn't think you zoomed in. I actually love how it looks.
