Vscode has an Org plugin. Neovim has a couple. And of course, you can export org to markdown, which a lot of apps support.

I think iWriter does the same thing

The best out there is [Logseq](https://logseq.com/).
System Crafter made a [video](https://youtube.com/watch?v=qjAIXCmhCQQ) exploring it and comparing it to Org Mode.

In case of Android there is Orgzly and there is mobile-adapted (PWA) web app Organice.
Logseq I believe supports org format as an option, but has its own file structure and workflow logic.

It'd be nice if github did a better job displaying org files. I've taken to automatically exporting them to markdown so there's a version of the info you can read via github, but even then I have to dumb down the formatting to keep it in the range that their markdown can deal with.

Neovim has [nvim-orgmode](https://github.com/nvim-orgmode/orgmode). I haven't used it but it appears to support folding.

What I often do is that I would switch to raw form and open the link in Emacs' eww. Then you can switch the mode to Org-mode and review the file as if it was on your local machine.
You can even build an Automator script (if you're using Mac) to open links in eww with a keystroke. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05wghiNzIj0
You can go even further and write a tiny elisp function that for links to files on GitHub/GitLab would transform the link so it always opens the file in its raw form.

Just refer to the org-mode website [page](https://orgmode.org/tools.html) for a list of tools that support the format.

But why?

On iOS https://plainorg.com
disclosure: I built that one.

gitlab renders readme.org (and any other .org files)
