I have used [Clemeras dired-git-info](https://github.com/clemera/dired-git-info) for a while, but it does not work well with my [dired-auto-readme](https://github.com/amno1/dired-auto-readme) and dired-subtree from [dired-hacks](https://github.com/Fuco1/dired-hacks) due to use of overlays.
I have finally got some time, so now dired-git-log is reworked to use text properties instead of overlays, and actually more or less everything is reworked. It turned out to be even slightly smaller (by a small margin) from dired-git-info.
I would appreciate if someone can test and rapport if there are bugs and so. Works for me, but there are probably things I haven't tested. I am aware of a bug with dired-subtree, if the buffer is reverted while a subtree is inserted, but I am not sure what causes it. However, that one is not one hits normally either, so I don't have it as a high priority.
By the way, does anyone know how is it with Clemera? I see neither his [GitHub](https://github.com/clemera) or Reddit account /u/clemera have a single update or comment since a year back, and the last article on [his blog](https://with-emacs.com/) is two years old too. I have tried to come in contact with him via mail about a week ago, before I re-worked his code, but I haven't got any answer yet. Hope that everything is OK with him.
I do plan to contribute this to Melpa, once my dired-auto-readme is approved.

I've been using dired-git-info for ages as well. Your package looks pretty good, I'll give it a try when I can.
I'm also hoping Clemera is okay. His work on emacs packages has been great. I'm a big fan of his Objed package for example. There were apparently plans to revamp it but it's been on hold. I'm still looking forward to it though.
Please update if you get any news, I'd like to know too.
