There's two problems I'm running into; the first was, as the title says, that all messages in my Inbox would get marked as ancient except, maybe, a few at the top.
This would happen every time; if I wait a day (and, so, have new E-mails come in) and then open Gnus again for the first time? All new E-mails marked as ancient.
And then, recently, the E-mails just stopped showing.
I'd already edited the Group's parameters to include `(visible . t)` and turned off scoring. I tried [gnus-summary-show-all-threads](https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/gnus/Thread-Commands.html#index-gnus_002dsummary_002dshow_002dall_002dthreads) and [gnus-summary-limit-include-dormant](https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/gnus/Limiting.html#index-gnus_002dsummary_002dlimit_002dinclude_002ddormant) (nothing happened and I was informed there were no dormant articles, respectively); I tried `C-u M-g` (I actually think this is what's causing the previous messages to not show up anymore, other than any which are still marked as new in my Inbox).
I just want to display all messages and for their status to reflect what's on the E-mail server; if it's new there, Gnus should show new, etc. I'm not using any offline storing or anything, just `nnimap`. Is there any easy way to do this?

A few things:
> (visible . t)
Not this; the parameter you probably want is `display`.
> I tried C-u M-g
Those are for rescanning whole groups. On nnimap you should use `/ N`.
> I'm not using any offline storing or anything
On a side note, you might want to use the agent to at least cache message headers or they'll be downloaded every time.

Somehow, I got those confused in my head; I had both set, though, so I already have `(display . all)`, (un)fortunately(?).

Sorry; I meant to mention that I tried `/ N` along with `C-u M-g`; the former just results in "No gnus is bad gnus".

Probably good advice; I'll have to look into how to set that up, at some point.

I take it that there's new mail and although `/ N` contacts the server to retrieve, it doesn't insert them.
The ancient mark is a default used when Gnus can't determine that the article is unread - which it does by comparing the .newsrc.eld (which has the local read article list) with the active info (retrieved from the server - also stored locally in the active file if the agent is enabled). These could've gotten outta sync. In that case you should try with a clean config with the agent also configured as in the link below.
But my best guess that this is related to scoring - you may try setting `gnus-use-scoring` to `nil` (if you haven't already) and verify that there are no score files.
