org-gcal and google oauth

hi, i use org-gcal and followed the instructions for setting up oauth. google is deprecating its oauth, and sent this message: >We're writing to remind you that the **OAuth out-of-band (OOB)** flow will be deprecated on **October 3, 2022,** to protect your users from phishing and app impersonation attacks. \[...\] > >**If you have already migrated your app(s) to an alternative OAuth method, no further action is required.** Please note that if your app(s) is natively installed you may have to request your users to update the app to the newer version to stop using the OOB method. Their "more information" page: [https://developers.googleblog.com/2022/02/making-oauth-flows-safer.html](https://developers.googleblog.com/2022/02/making-oauth-flows-safer.html) This leads me to this page for setting up oauth on desktop: [https://developers.google.com/identity/protocols/oauth2/native-app#redirect-uri\_loopback](https://developers.google.com/identity/protocols/oauth2/native-app#redirect-uri_loopback) and I must say that I don't understand at all what it is I'm supposed to do. For reference, I looked at this similar reddit post from 4 months ago, but I don't know if this alternative oauth documentation was out yet: [https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/v3gfyp/continuing\_with\_orggcal\_after\_google\_deprecates/](https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/v3gfyp/continuing_with_orggcal_after_google_deprecates/) Any help would be very appreciated, or other ways you sync your calendar to your emacs. thank you!

There is an open PR about this. [https://github.com/kidd/org-gcal.el/pull/200](https://github.com/kidd/org-gcal.el/pull/200) I don't know what exactly it left to make this happen, but you can raise your question directly to the devs.

i see! if i understand you correctly, this means that there's nothing to be done on my end but that whatever change happens has to be done on the package end? thank you!
