Newbie here. I m tired of setting up vim and autocomplete,, its pugins,, ycm etc. So I installed emacs. Completed about 70% of the tutorial. Its fine. But my main focus was to find some plugin for autocomplete nd suggestions.
I did ```M-x package-install [return] auto-complete``` after launching emacs, but I got no match.

To install packages, you need to fetch the repositories beforehand.
M-x package-refresh-contents, before M-x package-install.
As for auto-completion, there's a few different variants that people use. Auto-complete being one of them, but an alternative you might want to try is http://company-mode.github.io/

If you're tired of setting up autocomplete in vim, Emacs may not be the way to go for you at this time. Yes, there are more options available, but you still have to configure them all manually.
VScode/codium has seamless autocomplete out of the box, is decently fast, and has loads of extensions available.
Alternatively you could give Doom Emacs a try. It's a pre-configured starter kit for emacs that tries to emulate both vim and vscode, and actually does a pretty good job.

add MELPA to `package-archives`, refresh the package list, install `company` and related packages for your language

I'm wondering this too, you guys would not believe the amount of configuration needed to get lsp with autcomplete for a lua based neovim config, it's horrible, if one of you says emacs is better, I'm switching too

Emacs is (imo) better as it does much more than text editing and I like the unified environment it provides. With that said though, emacs also needs a lot of configuration to get these things. Vanilla emacs is almost like a blank slate which you fill with your ideas and plans to make it into what you desire. But all of it requires work. If you want a seamless experience use an IDE that has these built in I would say.
However, if you really want to try Emacs, there is Doom which has a lot of configuration already done. Its basically a fully fleshed out customised version of Emacs if you don't want to make your own and you don't need to configure a lot for it

If only doom would make a package to manage their lsp config for example… it would be awesome :p
