This has been fixed in Helm, see [https://github.com/emacs-helm/helm/issues/2542](https://github.com/emacs-helm/helm/issues/2542).
This was happening because file-notify doesn't follow symlinks on MacOS.
Now Emacs-29 version of file-notify doesn't follow symlinks as well on GNULinux, hopefully last Helm fixes it for both.
