Hey there.
My mission is to use org-roam for my zettelkasten, i.e. emacs for every other possible shit.
Problem is that, when I use the shortcut to create a new node there is no way to use spaces for the name of a new node. When I hit spacebar, emacs cries that there is no match.
Does someone know how to hack around this to use spaces?
Have a nice day!
For better understanding here is the referred to minibuffer:

I can only write ProgrammingLanguages

It's probably an issue of knowing your completion framework, which is responsible for selecting the org-roam node in the minibuffer via `completing-read`. Are you using `vertico`, `selectrum`, `ivy`, `helm`, `ido` or the default completion in emacs? Probably whatever completion your are using has a function to select the input in the minibuffer even if there is no matching candidate.

I'm using the default completion.
So I can set completing-read to nil and this should solve this issue?

No, `completing-read` is a _function_, setting a variable of the same name to `nil` won't do anything. That function is used to select an item from a list of candidates using your custom completing-styles. Several packages extend that.

In my case it works with spaces without having to do nothing. Helm is my selection framework.
Maybe something you have configured results in this problem with spaces? Can you try to bisect your init?

Type `C-q` first

There are lots of different answers that I found when I had this problem. I settled on:
`(define-key minibuffer-local-completion-map (kbd "SPC") 'self-insert-command)`
