Do you mean, this is how you'd prefer e.g. [md4rd](https://github.com/ahungry/md4rd) to look?

I really like the concept, but in my honest opinion, not everything can be converted to text-based only, without any regard to the graphical aspect. For RSS feeds it's applicable, and the experience is rather nice, but with things like “social media” sites I don't see it applicable. I know it's a concept, and a great one too.

That's correct.

Sure, but reddit is essentially text-based to start with, so there's no problem in that respect?

I know some people experience Reddit as text-based only, and I tried it for some time, but the experience wasn't great on the contrary Hacker News is all text-based and I use Elfeed for browsing it as an RSS. But when it comes to Reddit, I really enjoy surfing the web and experiencing its UI. In the end, it's a matter of preference some people enjoy Reddit as text-based experience others don't, and I respect both.

Also see the nnreddit extension for Gnus (https://github.com/dickmao/nnreddit). Because it is Gnus, you get the usual scoring, on subject / author, etc. Also, the capability of upvoting / downvoting, etc. Using it right now to post this. https://github.com/dickmao/nnreddit/raw/master/screenshot.png

Yeah, I think the experience of using reddit will vary from people to people depending on which subreddit they like visiting. If you visit too much subreddits that focus on images and videos, using a text-based package for emacs doesn't sound all that better. But, as someone who mostly visits programming-related subreddits (or other subreddits that has plenty of discussions), I think the idea of browsing reddit from emacs to be quite interesting.
