Issues With Using 'Solargraph' For Ruby In Emacs Config For LSP Mode

Hey there, **Issue:** * I'm getting this message appear in my '\*Messages\*' buffer when I visit a Ruby based file with the '.rb' file extension on MacOS: LSP :: The following servers support current file but do not have automatic installation: ruby-ls sorbet-ls typeprof-ls ruby-syntax-tree-ls steep-ls You may find the installation instructions at https://emacs-lsp.github.io/lsp-mode/page/languages. (If you have already installed the server check *lsp-log*). **What I Have Done:** * I installed 'Solargraph' via the 'gem install solargraph' command on both my Linux machine (Manjaro Linux) and MacOS machine. * I made sure to include a change to my '\~/.bashrc' config to include the following section on both my Linux machine (Manjaro Linux) and MacOS machine (Macbook Pro): # Ruby specific variables: export GEM_HOME="$HOME/.gem" **Current Emacs Config Snippet Containing My LSP Based Config Section:** * Here's a link to a snippet of my Emacs config that I have using a literate Emacs config in a '\~/.emacs.d/configuration.org' file: * [https://bpa.st/3PQA](https://bpa.st/3PQA) **Question:** * What can I do in this scenario?

it's not in your path

u/lebensterben How would I add this to the path with the context of the 'Solargraph' gem? I ask because other Ruby gems in other projects work just fine, so I'm wondering why LSP would need this if the gem was already installed?

Just quickly (as I'm about to jump into a meeting). I had issues with Emacs and gems a little while ago. Posting just in case it helps: [https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/vjh7dc/how\_to\_add\_repository\_dependencies\_for\_magit/](https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/vjh7dc/how_to_add_repository_dependencies_for_magit/) I basically started up Emacs in terminal and things worked as expected.

Are you using any kind of tool for managing Ruby versions, like rbenv or rvm?
