I have seen that installing LSP packages also installs TreeMacs is there a way to get rid of this dependency. I just want to use LSP with projectile.

some lsp-mode extensions are using treemacs as a library to render tree structures. You are still free to use projectile and the presence of treemacs won't bother you because generally there is no conflict between threemacs/projectile

anyway to exclude treemacs commands & options showing up when I type `M-x`
SafeSweet715 · 2022-08-30 09:40
How about [eglot](https://github.com/joaotavora/eglot) instead of lsp-mode ?
pras29gb · 2022-08-30 09:57
That's another option but I'm skeptical about features it provides compared to LSP
yyoncho · 2022-08-30 12:54
Depends on what you are using for M-x. But why would you want to do that considering that either way there are tons of autoloaded commands built into emacs that you won't use either way?

You can disable the UI elements, but I don't think you can install LSP without treemacs.

I checked the dependencies on melpa it turns out that many lsp sub projects for compiled languages like \`lsp-metals\` \`lsp-jdt\` use lsp-treemacs . After u/yyoncho pointed out , I am just using with projectile and dropped the idea of customizing \`m-x\`.

Eglot is actually pretty good since i have started using it and is pretty easy to setup the only major feature I don’t think it has is a debug adapter
