I really like vertico, but after making a selection from a vertico-buffer I'd like to be able to go back to that buffer and make another selection. Is this possible? I took a quick look at [vertico-buffer.el](https://github.com/minad/vertico/blob/main/extensions/vertico-buffer.el) and didn't see code that implements this functionality.

I think you can use emark to "export" the list of candidates to a new buffer, then you can work from there.

The [vertico-repeat.el](https://github.com/minad/vertico/blob/main/extensions/vertico-repeat.el) extension provides session support and tracks history of vertico queries for different commands.

NB: Add details.

Thanks for the replies. Embark and vertico-repeat both look like solid options.

Note that vertico-repeat is not able to restore the position in minibuffers that are filled asynchronously like `consult-ripgrep`; contrary to what you might expect from more fully-featured completions frameworks.

(use-package vertico
:hook ((after-init . vertico-mode))
:bind (("C-c r r" . vertico-repeat))
:config
(add-hook 'minibuffer-setup-hook #'vertico-repeat-save))
Not perfect, but `vertico-repeat` does the job for me for the most part. Make sure the mini buffer hook is set up correctly. Using Embark is supposedly the more elegant solution of the two, but I haven't had a chance to grok it.
