Trying to Understand Under The Hood LSP of VSCode.

_analysis230_ · 2022-08-24 17:17
I'm making a switch from VSCode to Emacs. I started with Doom Emacs and things are going well. I'm really falling in love with the use of keybindings and even when they are not yet second nature to me I feel like I'm more efficient with them. With LSP I'm able to get the behavior of Emacs nearly identical to VSCode. There are some small, nearly ignorable, areas where I do feel like code completion works better in VSC. Where can I get details about what LSP VSC uses for which language? How does it integrate so well with different languages like RJSX and CSS in my Next projects? I'm sure it only has to do with some LSP configs. In Emacs I have to explicitly give the lsp configs whereas VSCode used to do it implicitly, I want to somehow locate what those configs were and then copy them over to Emacs.

You'd probably be better suited asking in a VSCode forum.

Have you added ` +lsp` after the language in Doom’s ‘init.el’? If you were to enable it for JavaScript you should do it like this: `(javascript +lsp)`. Remember do run doom sync after you have saved the file.

Yes. I have and it works 99.9% like VSCode apart from very very minor difference, won't even call it a problem.
