How do I compile the vterm library for mac m1?
When I do the default install, I seemingly get an x86 share object.
.emacs.d/elpa/vterm-20220822.1158/vterm-module.so' (mach-o file, but is an incompatible architecture (have (x86\_64), need (arm64e)))"

quick fix way:https://github.com/akermu/emacs-libvterm/issues/471#issuecomment-1214274231
And I think you need clean all of packages installed by x86 brew which path prefix is /usr/local and install all package by the arm brew

Just follow homebrew‘s document https://brew.sh/ and you will see brew installed to /opt/homebrew

Before I switched to nix on Mac. I used https://github.com/d12frosted/homebrew-emacs-plus
I would compile emacs yourself with the above if you need help I can look to see if I have any notes.

What advantages does nix bring to mac? I’m interested.

Sorry I forgot to reply! I switched from homebrew/asdf-vm to nix/asdf-vm then to just nix on Mac. I have recently pivoted and am running arch Linux and guix for my development environment. Mostly because every time I reboot my Mac nix has to be re-installed.
