I just install emacs-mac 2.8 via brew and then I installed the doom config (although I'm facing the same 2 issues with vanilla emacs as well, I have tried)
Issue 1: I can just not "activate" the emacs window when I launch using "emacs" command. All the keystrokes go to the terminal

Issue 2: If I launch using "emacsclient -c", it doesn't open a new window it just opens in the terminal itself and doesn't open a new window:
