Does anyone know how to automatically give an extra line between org-mode headers, and maybe two lines between level 1 headers? The way that org-mode can feel so crowded, and automatically removes my extra newlines upon saves drives me a bit bonkers. Any tips/suggestions?

Are you maybe looking for the `org-blank-before-new-entry` variable? It doesn't support adding two new lines between headers out of the box I think, but you can set it so it always adds a blank line between headers.

`(customize-set-variable 'org-blank-before-new-entry'((heading . nil)(plain-list-item . nil)))(setq org-cycle-separator-lines 1)`
