I had issues with `PDF Tools` and recently I got a message that `epdfinfo` needed to be rebuild, which I thought might fix my issues with PDF Tools thinking that my pdfs are broken.
But it fails when trying to compile with the following message:
> error: cannot find necessary poppler-private header
System:
+ KDE Neon 5.25
+ GNU Emacs 26.3
+ all dependencies that are listed are already installed.
Can anybody suggest what might be going on here? or just how to fix it?

I had a similar problem a month or so ago but I think it was fixed in `pdf-tools`. Perhaps the comments under this issue will help: [https://github.com/politza/pdf-tools/issues/708](https://github.com/politza/pdf-tools/issues/708)

The consensus seems to be deleting it entirely and then re-fetching it from MELPA

Thanks. It worked. Weird part is that I had removed `pdf-tools` before but removing it again worked for some reason.
So for anybody reading this I simply did these steps twice:
+ `M-x list-packages` and then remove `pdf-tools`
+ restart emacs.
