Which mind and concept mapping package(s) do you recommend?

Hi there 👋 I would like to use emacs fully for my bachelor thesis and would like to hear your recommendations for mind and concept mapping. Thanks in advance.

PlantUML may be a good option. https://plantuml.com/mindmap-diagram

Also, just so OP is aware, there's a plantuml-mode that also has good org babel integration: https://github.com/skuro/plantuml-mode#integration-with-org-mode

Graphviz using the twopi format.

Integration with the Zotero citation manager was important for me to do my literature search, and so far I like the visual mind map of freeplane with the freeplane-zotero plugin. On the other hand, if I'm taking lots of notes on a particular research article in emacs, citations are now fully built in to org mode citations. So I can save all the citations from Zotero to a single large bib file and cite them from inside of emacs.

Zotero looks really great. I‘ll give it a try for my citation management. Thanks.

I used PlantUML a lot so far without emacs. Mostly for class or sequence diagrams. I‘ll give it a try, thanks.

Here's my config for this: https://github.com/jplindstrom/dotemacs/blob/master/config/mode-org.el#L125 Can probably be nicer, but it adds some important things and example documents.

Mentioning [org-mind-map](https://github.com/the-ted/org-mind-map/). In it you simply write org headings. But it's very basic.

Hey could you share a link of the freeplane-zotero plugin. I have searched through the internet and cannot find anything like this.
