Context:
E is used to mark an article as expired in summary buffer. But if I press E by mistake, is there a way to undo just the Expiry mark.

If I use \~gnus-summary-clear-mark-forward\~, it clears all marks, but is there a way to clear only just the Expiry (E) mark?

You can set another 'readedness' mark on it, for eg by pressing `d`. EDIT: Or, for the same kind of behavior, you can set/unset *process* marks as you want and expire them all with `M-& E`. (To reset after just `E` would require remembering the previous readedness mark for each message which I don't think would be possible without writing custom code)

\- marking as 'readedness' would leave mail on server, but there are some spam mails which I want to expire and in such scenarios I tend to use 'expiry'
\- seems E mark wouldn't respect process marks. \~M-& E\~ would mark next 7 mails with E. So, won't be able to use process marks for toggling.

I was talking about using it (say `d`) to *clear* the expiry mark.

You must have forgotten to press the SHIFT key while typing `M-&` (it is ampersand, not 7).

sorry, my bad. thanks a lot for both the workarounds (working as mentioned).
