Graceful matching for suggestions?

I'm using ivy and counsel for completion. When I M-x, I sometimes make small typos. For example: M-x descirbe function RET This of course returns no results, though the edit distance to the command "describe-function" is only 2. Is there any way to get graceful filtering to help filter out typos? basically something like vscode's filterGraceful. I'm ok with switching from ivy to something else like helm as well.

The emacs completion methods I know can use several backends. Ivy is no different you can use flex for fuzzy completion by adding the following to your ivy config. ```elisp (setq ivy-re-builders-alist '((t . ivy--regex-plus))) ``` Thereare also other backends you can use like orderless research them and figure out which one is a better fit for you.

@ispinfx is mentioning how you can use fuzzy or orderless completion once you have them set up.

What keywords do I search for to find these other backends?

* `emacs flx` * `emacs completion backends` * `ivy emacs flx` are good terms to get started
