Is there somewhere an Emacs 28.1 with pdf-tools on windows10?

I tried to compile pdf-tools with msys2 but pdf-tools needs cask and here nothing goes anymore. The cask makefile tries to find systemd .... I need Emacs 28.1 for Doom Emacs and can't use the emaxs from Github.

No need for Cask for Windows. The current source of pdf-tool on NonGNU ELPA repository shows this way of installing : https://github.com/vedang/pdf-tools/#using-the-pre-built-mingw-packages-from-msys2-on-windows Alternatively, I have had success with this way https://github.com/nobiot/Zero-to-Emacs-and-Org-roam/blob/v1/100.pdf-tools-org-noter.md

Try `epdfinfo.exe` from https://github.com/m-parashar/emax64/releases . Let me know if you need help setting it up.

The issue is, pdf-tools are installing python. The isolation of epdfinfo.exe by copy the executable and the DLLs (see ldd tool) to a directory in the PATH is somewhat hard. I used epdinfo from the version of emax64.Anyway your tip was helpful. I didn't knew epdfinfo doesn't return to the commandline bc it's a server, which cost me 2 hours. Thx for the tip. I wish Emacs on Windows wouldn't be that hard.

For Windows MSYS2 BUILD you don't have to build. The appyeor has CI builds that produce a zip of the exe and its dependencies. https://ci.appveyor.com/project/vedang/pdf-tools For example, the last commit triggered this build where you can grab the artifacts https://ci.appveyor.com/project/vedang/pdf-tools/builds/44259920/artifacts Artifacts will expire after one month though. There are ways to upload artifacts to other storage providers (e.g., github release if anyone finds time to contribute and work with vedang on that)

For some unknown reason, the appyeor badge isn't showing properly but you should be able to see a link at the top of pdf-tools github README.

Thx for the tip, I never found him because of the noise from Google.

I'm in the same exact boat as you, which ddl did you have to grab and did you just put the exe and dll in the .emacs/bin directory?
