Org Clock Report Not Working

Hercislife23 · 2022-08-01 13:24
I am trying to use `org-clock-report` but for some reason it won't allow me to clock in. I've tried a handful of different scenarios, but even the most basic of just running `org-clock-report` then clocking in, doesn't work. I keep getting an error similar to `before first at position XXX in buffer` [`test.org`](https://test.org) the issue though is the position of my cursor doesn't seem to change anything aside from the position number. My [test.org](https://test.org) file is below, it's literally just the clock. No matter what line I leave my cursor on when trying to log in, I get that above error. `#+BEGIN: clocktable :scope file :maxlevel 2` `#+CAPTION: Clock summary at [2022-08-01 Mon 08:17]` `| Headline | Time |` `|----------------+------|` `| *Total time* | *0:00* |` `#+END:`

Don't you need a headline to clock in on in the test buffer?

Mind elaborating with an example? I'm not sure what you mean by a headline.

* This is a headline ** This is a second level headline This is some body text, explaining that if you put the cursor on a headline you should be able to clock in.

Thank you! I had it working on a different computer, and the clock was on the bottom so I didn't even think about there being a headline on the top of the file (100 lines or so up). This fixed my problem!
