Hi,
I recently learnt that magit does tags! I am wondering, how does one tag a remote branch though? I have gone through the [manual](https://magit.vc/manual/magit/Tagging.html) but couldn't figure it out. Maybe some more experienced folk here can help me?
Also, is there any way one can do gitlab release tags from magit? Seeing as it is probably a gitlab-specific implementation rather than a feature in git proper, am I right in assuming that this is not possible ?
Cheers

I have a little org cheat sheet (I use spacemacs btw)
```
**** Fetch upstream ~F u~ list ref log ~l O~
**** Create a tag ~t t <tag> RET~
**** Push tag ~P T RET~
```

Thank you! I didn't know you had to push tags =.="

*Every* local operation has to be pushed to the remote to exist outside your local clone.
Strongly recommend that you read (or re-read) [Pro Git](https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2), which is free and is really great. Especially the Git Internals chapter. Once you have a grasp of the overall model Git uses, a lot of the higher-level commands make much more sense.

Thank you. I have gone through that book in patches but I guess it needs a proper read.

Gitllab/Github releases are a separate inteface on top of Git. Magit-forge could handle those I assume.
For Github you can use workflows to tell use tag to create a release.

Gotcha, thank you. I will check out magit-forge! I just never understood what forges are. I guess they are this layer of abstraction build on the top of git. Like github gitlab gitea etc.
