`#+KEYWORDS` are exported from Org to PDF via LaTeX.

Thanks for your quick response!
Maybe I have been unclear in my formulation. I am not talking about (custom) keywords, but about in-buffer settings such as #+author, #+title and #+filetags as described [in the org mode manual](https://orgmode.org/manual/In_002dbuffer-Settings.html).
While #+title and #+date are exported just fine - even though #+title in a different fashion than I want -, #+filetags are not, and I don't know how (with which entry-point: emacs, org-mode, ox-latex, pandoc) to solve this.

Have you tried using the `#+KEYWORDS` in-buffer setting with PDF export via LaTeX? It works for me on a regular basis. Or is there some reason why you absolutely have to use the setting `#+FILETAGS` rather than `#+KEYWORDS`?

Thanks for your effort to understand what I was trying to be clear about in OP, which I now realize was not sufficiently clear. Will update later today.
It is the standard Format as generated by denote when you make a New note in either org, txt or markdown (same information, different Syntax).
The header features the following four keywords: #+title, #+date, #+filetags and #+identifier. I can investigate if it is possible to change the #+filetags to a #+keyword manually to See if it works. Then it should be possible to write functions which do that automatically.
However, that seems like a lackluster solution and I feel like there should be an easier way but I can currently not think of one.

I see now. Prot is the author of denote. Go to the package repo and raise an issue and I'm sure he'll address it quickly.
