How to manually install emacs packages? I am unable to acess github

I tried downloading them and then package-install-file. But it gives me many errors. It probably only works if there is only one .el file.

The packages available via the built-in package manager [once configured](https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/InstallingPackages) do not come from GitHub though they may be developed there. They come from [GNU ELPA](https://elpa.gnu.org/) [NonGNU ELPA](https://elpa.nongnu.org/) and [MELPA](https://melpa.org/). You would still need internet access though.

[Add them to your load-path](https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/LoadPath) which was linked in the first link I gave in my first post. But I recommend you follow that first link and configure the built-in package manager. It will manage dependencies etc. for you.

Do `M-x list-packages RET`. This will work out of the box for packages hosted on GNU Elpa. If you're using Emacs 28 or higher, it'll also work out of the box for Non-Gnu Elpa. To install packages from Melpa (which has more packages than the others) go to melpa.org and click the link for instructions on adding the repo to Emacs.
