Does anyone know which variable decides the return prompt in geiser? i.e the '$num'

This is a [Guile thing](https://www.gnu.org/software/guile/manual/html_node/Value-History.html) as far as I know.

Yes and since Geiser relies on recognizing the prompts by regex, changing the underlying prompt requires adjusting that regex.
