I am trying to enable `auto-revert` mode globally on macOS (version Monterey 12.3.1). I know it uses the `filenotify` library, and should dispatch to `kqueue` for macOS, which seems to be installed, although I am not sure how to test for it. But for some reason, `auto-revert-use-notify` is `nil`, and the file changes have the polling delay.
Does anybody have any leads? I am not sure how to start searching for a solution. Web searches lead to nothing much.

`auto-revert-use-notify` is `t` by default.
Run `emacs -Q`, turn on `auto-revert`, and see if it works. If so, it's your emacs configuration, bisect it until you find out what's going wrong.
(btw, you didn't tell us what version of Emacs you're using)

Sorry about that, Emacs version 29, compiled from master.
`GNU Emacs 29.0.50 (build 1, aarch64-apple-darwin21.3.0, NS appkit-2113.30 Version 12.2 (Build 21D49)) of 2022-03-16`

It seems to work with `emacs -Q`, so the problem must be somewhere in my config. I will try to see what is wrong with my config. Thanks!

There's the `bug-hunter` package on GNU ELPA that can help with this kind of stuff.
