How can I enable emacs keybindings in VSCODE/SLACK

Hopefully, you champs can help with this - I want to enable emacs keybindings in slack/vscode More specifically - CTRL + D - works as expected in vscode/slack and deletes a char But... Option + D should delete a word but actually prints some funky char I'm using macOS

I suppose the right Option works as an AltGr, probably the left will work as expected

You can add keybindings like Option+D globally; I'm not sure if you can do it per application. See https://github.com/nileshk/mac-configuration/blob/master/Library/KeyBindings/DefaultKeyBinding.dict

You can customize keyboard behaviour with karabiner and goku.
