Evaluating Emacs Performance

Wondering how you go about getting better to evaluating performance issues in emacs. I've been a longtime user but never dug in too deeply on this. For context, I have 28 with native comp, lsp-mode, tree-sitter, ts-server, and more running when I open a \~1000 line React component with \~80 eslint errors. I understand this is an egregious example but it's almost impossible to work on the buffer. I can't even create regions. Should I expect that to be a smooth experience? How do I go about tuning it and how did you know "this isn't reasonable?"

run \`profiler\` and see what \`mode\` has high resource utilization.
