Is there some way for org headlines to retain their color in org columns mode?

When I switch to columns view in org the customized headline colours are disabled. Is there way to get them back? The TODO status keep their colours which helps, but I would like the headline colour to be retained as well.

Look into `org-column` face. You may remove all its properties. Then, you will get the underlying faces not overridden.
