Hello!
I've been working on this minimal and light theme for a while and it was recently added to melpa.
carnivorousdrew · 2022-07-09 19:59
Yes, but do you have a theme to get my beard like that as well?
LordOfSwines · 2022-07-09 20:20
That comes from using Emacs, so keep on hacking!
grtcdr · 2022-07-10 00:37
Now that's just gorgeous...
LordOfSwines · 2022-07-10 00:46
Thank you! :)
centzon400 · 2022-07-10 07:44
It's beautiful! And timely... I was just casting around for a zenburn replacement, and this might very well be it.
Thanks!
agumonkey · 2022-07-10 07:59
pretty nice, a nano sibling it seems

This looks beautiful! Thank you for sharing your work.
I think keywords like “title”, “deadline”, and so on could benefit from a higher contrast. You probably wanted to make them secondary elements/hints but the low contrast is just hard on the eyes (at least for me).
LordOfSwines · 2022-07-10 10:47
Thanks!
>You probably wanted to make them secondary elements/hints
You are correct :) I'm going to add a "higher contrast" option next.
Edit: If you want and here's what you can do (using 'use-package')
:custom-face
(mindre-faded ((t (:foreground "#585c60"))))
This color is used in the org-begin-line and should really be part of the palette alist. Note that this will affect comments as well. I will add possibility for more fine tuning over time.
junglee33 · 2022-07-10 11:29
looks gorgeous ! may you please share the font that you are using in the screenshot?
LordOfSwines · 2022-07-10 12:14
Here you go [https://github.com/erikbackman/mindre-theme#frequently-asked-questions](https://github.com/erikbackman/mindre-theme#frequently-asked-questions) :)
([Sarasa Gothic Mono](https://picaq.github.io/sarasa/)) You could probably just copy the Iosevka custom build instructions from Sarasa though.
junglee33 · 2022-07-10 12:56
thank you kindly !
LordOfSwines · 2022-07-10 21:41
That's certainly one of many inspirations but maybe more so the "gentoo colors". I'm a NixOS user but I was a long time gentoo user in the past I've always had a thing for those colors, if you take a look at the gentoo wiki you'll see what I mean :)
agumonkey · 2022-07-11 00:23
Oh I see, the few I remember of gentoo it was nice indeed.
itistheblurstoftimes · 2022-07-11 01:55
Now do a dark theme!
itistheblurstoftimes · 2022-07-11 01:56
Was it one of the most insane font installations you've ever seen?
Did yours also err out as the end seemed near?
junglee33 · 2022-07-11 02:12
yeah i did unfortunately. then i realized i don't have to go through the pain, and found pre-built images, and used those.
edit: picked it up from [here](https://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/github-release/be5invis/Sarasa-Gothic/LatestRelease/)
itistheblurstoftimes · 2022-07-11 03:02
Missed that. Thanks for the link.
stayclassytally · 2022-07-11 22:41
Oh nice. Looks like Leuven and Nano had a baby where they got the good genes from both.
itistheblurstoftimes · 2022-07-11 23:04
This is downvoted but it is meant as a compliment. Great work. Would love to see a dark theme from you because of your great work. I thought this was implicit in my comment. Maybe someone just hates dark themes...
LordOfSwines · 2022-07-11 23:46
Pretty accurate :) In my mind it's as if Leuven, Nano, Tao and the Gentoo Tyrian theme had a baby :P
LordOfSwines · 2022-07-11 23:48
Thanks :) I did not downvote. I have similar ideas for a dark theme that I possibly will get around to creating some day.
LordOfSwines · 2022-07-11 23:56
Thanks! Zenburn is a classic :)
your_sweetpea · 2022-07-15 06:31
I've been using doom-opera-light for some time, but this might just be a worthy replacement finally. Thanks for sharing!
regadas · 2022-07-17 09:55
Looks really great! Thanks! and +1 on the higher contrast option.
Gus_Gustavsohn · 2022-08-26 13:38
Omg that beard man! I’m sorry but it is stealing the thunder from your theme, which is great! Thanks for sharing your work.
