Hey everyone, I often try to introduce people to emacs but something they all say is I don't like lisp. Most of the time they say this because they never really got the basic stuff and had only been scared of the syntax.
My goal here is to cover some of the core parts of emacs specifically quoting, and why we have #' all all over the place.
While I tried to be as accurate as possible I did us a decent amount of generalization to avoid extending this beyond it's current runtime. If you want to add clarifications in the YouTube comments you are welcome to.
I plan to do a follow up on macros, and dynamic vs lexical scoping. If there is anything else you recommend let me know.

Anyways, great video :)

It has almost no syntax. Not scary. You’re basically working in the parse tree all the time. It’s fantastic!

I would appreciate if you took up on some "strange" parts, as you announced in the title. I don't find defining variables and lists very strange. Cick baiter! :-).
Anyway, cool, nice video! You are getting really good at this, congrats!

More so the quoting and function namespace really haha. Thanks, I'll try to amp up the strange in the future 😂.
