It's been a while since I've looked at this (some may be obsolete), but I have this in my config: ;; Transparent titlebar on macOS. (add-to-list 'default-frame-alist '(ns-transparent-titlebar . t)) (add-to-list 'default-frame-alist '(ns-appearance . dark)) I'm also on https://github.com/d12frosted/homebrew-emacs-plus

Not related but just curious, do you ever have issues with too many files open error On your eMacs? I use the same eMacs formulae for eMacs28 and 29.

Everything I do in Emacs begins with Dired. I never open just one file, I always open a project directory as my starting point and go to the files or launch asynchronous shell commands from there.

It's probably because your system has [too low a number of maximum file descriptors](https://synthomat.de/blog/2020/01/increasing-the-file-descriptor-limit-on-macos/). MacOS's number is notoriously low and Emacs will hit that limit pretty fast if you're working in multiple projects and use a language server of any kind.

argh... I used to hit this problem a few years ago. For me, it happened frequently with mu4e. However, I can't remember if it was an Emacs upgrade or mu4e upgrade that did the trick. I also don't have a higher limit set (which is often the solution offered). ulimit -n 1024 I did see a post about this somewhat recently https://irreal.org/blog/?p=10550

Probably the fringe ;; No color for fringe, blends with the rest of the window. (with-eval-after-load 'fringe (set-face-attribute 'fringe nil :foreground (face-foreground 'default) :background (face-background 'default))) All my theme overrides are over at: https://github.com/xenodium/dotsies/blob/main/emacs/features/fe-ui.el
