Was told y'all might like this

Finally, the modifier keys have returned!

That's almost as much of a blazing hot deal than the ones you'll find at the Vancouver value village.

Took me a minute to recognize that. Awesome, and evidently wasted on this crowd.

I want my Super, Meta, and Hyper key - and ones that don’t fight with the OS over Win/Cmd and Alt/Opt!

Mine has MORE keys!

TIL about the `RUB OUT` key.

What a coincidence. I watched a [video](https://archive.fosdem.org/2021/schedule/event/new_type_of_computer/) that mentioned Lisp machines, and they mentioned Symbolics. Never heard about this company before. They had specific hardware to run lisp code. Also, they were the first company to have a ".com" domain. Pretty interesting piece of history you acquired.

I would buy a modern keyboard with dedicated Meta and Hyper keys (in addition to Alt/Opt and Super/Cmd) in a heartbeat. It’s really a shame that no one in the custom keyboard community, which is quite large these days, seems to be interested enough in making that happen. Plus the paren placement on Symbolics keyboards is so much better. That should be the default.

Wow, that's really cool! Can you connect it to a modern PC? I don't know which connector this type of keyboard has, maybe you can create a adapter.

It's funny how Emacs was written mindful of this keyboard, but it doesn't inherently benefit from it particularly. However, it then spawns all [the jokes](http://anagilemind.net/2015/07/31/a-few-more-agile-related-memes/ah-finally-got-my-emacs-setup-just-how-i-like-it-v2/) about Emacs *needing* a huge keyboard that continue to this day. I literally use less of my keyboard than average - e.g. don't use arrows or PgUp/Dn.

You lucky… 🤣 How it feels?

I suggest you “Free as in freedom”, the Stallman’s biography. It’s pretty interesting and has some parts about Symbolics

Fantastic. Never seen one that colour before.
