Does anybody have any experience of integrating git-repo and magit. ?
>from the google page:
Repo is a tool built on top of Git. Repo helps manage many Git repositories, does the uploads to revision control systems, and automates parts of the development workflow. Repo is not meant to replace Git, only to make it easier to work with Git. The repo command is an executable Python script that you can put anywhere in your path.
The name of is somewhat unfortunate as it makes it difficut to find information about it.
We used it at work to manage the whole build that is made op interconnected builds that are developed and worked on by multile persons and teams.
I wonder if someone here has any experience of using magit together with this?

As I see is like a superset, I haven't used but seems to be an extra tool, so you might ask for the features that git-repo do and try to see if magit can do it as well

What specific feature(s) does git-repo have which Magit doesn't?
Why would it matter if Magit is calling git directly, or using a wrapper script around it, if it does the things you want it to?

I've used both on a large project a few years ago, although I'd say there's no need to integrate them per se. I used repo to do mass updates and get the right things checked out for the system as a whole, always from the command line. Magit was used for individual repo work, etc just as you would use it normally.

That is the impression that I get on how to work with it as well.
I think it is a great addition tot git for bigger project that consists of many smaller subprojects but how drunk must they have been for naming it repo ? A name that really actively blocks you from doing effective google searches about it and not getting drowned in massive amounts of useless info ?

I've been using magit in repos contained in a manifest and then updated the manifest by hand.
I've didn't experienced any difficulties, all remotes managed in the manifest are there.
The difficulty would be to interact with the manifest in any way that requires changes.
But I think these difficulties come from the way that those settings are not native to git and thus affect all git user's.

I wondered that too any information around is hard to find.
Their git repo containing the python script contains the most informations.
