How can I make Edebug ignore typing in *edebug* list buffer?

When I'm debugging an elisp program, I want to watch some variables or expressions. I press E after entering the Edebug mode to open a new buffer where, according to the manual, I can type expressions that will get evaluated every time I Edebug updates. However, it seems Edebug still recognizes commands even in the \*edebug\* window. If I try to type the name of a variable 'lang', when I type 'a' it aborts Edebug and I have to start again from scratch. Is there an option to disable this behavior when I go to the \*edebug\* window? Or do I have to write everything in \*scratch\* and copy it over?

That's strange, I've just checked and this works as expected for me. Could you run `describe-mode` (`C-h m`) in the \*edebug\* buffer and paste the results (major mode and enabled minor modes)?

I was using scimax and I imagine some package was interfereing with edebug because as soon as I got back to vanilla emacs it worked as expected. Do you know if there is a package that will allow me to switch between stack frames? I searched the documentation but there was nothing of the sort.

I'm not sure actually, but perhaps this will help: `(info "(elisp) Trace Buffer")` ?
